Style, Class, and 5 Star Service - With a host of accolades to its name such as TripAdvisor's No 1 top hotel in the world 2018 and 2020 to 3rd place in 2019, Viroth's Hotel sets itself up for a truly amazing experience. But the big question is - Does it live up to all the hype? The simple answer is "absolutely it does".
The booking process was easy and flawless through their own website. As this was our first trip to Cambodia and the Angkor Wat was on the list of "things to do" we decided to book their Archaeological Package for 3 nights. The package consisted of 3 nights accommodation in a deluxe double room, daily a la carte breakfast, round trip airport transfer in one of their vintage cars, one set Khmer set dinner menu, and private two-day temple tour covering the small circuit tour and the grand circuit tour. The total cost was 709 USD.
The 5-star service started after the booking was made with a follow-up email from the hotel thanking us for our booking and checking our flight arrival time along with what days we wanted to do the tours.
On arrival at the airport, we were greeted by a member of the team who shuttled us to our hotel in one of their vintage Mercedes Benz. The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from the airport. Pulling up to the hotel you are greeted with a leafy facade, modern-looking building, and some super friendly staff who whisked our luggage away and brought us straight to the reception area. The room was not ready however we were offered breakfast while we waited - nice touch!
The hotel has one large saltwater pool. Very nice place to visit after trekking around temples all day. Amazingly refreshing. There is a relaxing spa and a fitness room if that's what you are in too.
The Room - large, fairly modern, nicely decorated, great bed, wonderful terrace/balcony, powerful shower, complimentary water, reasonably priced mini bar, safety deposit box, and nightly turn-down service. 5/5
The Breakfast - breakfast was a la carte each day. They presented a menu to you and a pencil and you simply filled in what you wanted. You can order as much or as little as you wanted. Everything was prepared exquisitely and the omelets were delicious. The coffee was of good quality. The bread was freshly baked and warm when served to you. Overall 5/5
The Service - They say serve comes from the heart and your love of the business that you work in and in this case, I truly believe the staff at Viroth's Hotel love their jobs. Nothing is to much bother for this team. Always smiling and always ready to serve. The highlight of this service was on one evening we were heading out for dinner and as we left the lobby the concierge rushed to us offering some mosquito spray before we went outside. Now in my opinion that is top class service.
Overall I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you choose to stay here I can guarantee you will have a very memorable stay.
